At your service.. Know the value of the real estate tax on your private home
“Akhbar Al-Youm Portal” introduces a new section to serve readers, entitled “At Your Service”, to follow up the services provided by governmental and private sector entities which concern the citizens, to facilitate tasks for them within those entities, and to respond to inquiries from readers in all relevant sectors. “Akhbar Al-Youm Portal” completes its two-year service entitled "You ask and taxes answer", responding to citizens' queries regarding income taxes, real estate taxes, VAT and more.
The new service comes within the framework of the joint collaboration between “Akhbar Al-Youm Portal" and General Tax Authority "GTA" and Real Estate Tax Authority "RTA" headed by Mr. Mukhtar Tawfiq, Head of GTA, and Mr. Anwar Fawzi, Head of RTA, to promote citizen's tax culture.
In this context, “Akhbar Al-Youm Portal” received an answer to a question posed to Mr. Anwar Fawzy, head of RTA: what is the value of the real estate tax on your private home?
He answered: If the market value of the real estate unit "private housing" is L.E. 2 millions, the real-estate tax payable is only L.E. 120 per year, if it is L.E. 2.5 millions, the tax is L.E. 750, and if it is L.E. 3 millions, the tax is L.E. 1380.
The head of RTA added that private housing with a market value of less than L.E. 2 millions, is exempted from the real- estate tax, so that the owner applies for an exemption on "Form 6" attached to it "Statement of real estate on Form 6 bis" that includes a statement of all the units he owns or benefits from nationwide.
